Mission Statement

At Bay Area Therapy Group, we take care of our clients by taking care of our clinicians, centering inclusion, diversity, and equity in all of our actions. We are stepping up our game by aligning our values with our practices, and by committing to pervasive, supportive change that strengthens our community from the inside out.

Our mission is to provide collaborative, person-centered psychotherapy rooted in equity, compassion, and authentic human connection. We serve individuals, couples, and families, prioritizing access for BIPOC, 2SLGBTQIA+, and other historically marginalized communities, by offering affirming, culturally responsive care that honors each person’s lived experience.

We exist as a human-centered alternative to corporate therapy models that treat clients and clinicians as numbers. Therapy is not transactional, it is relational. We believe meaningful healing happens when clients are seen, heard, and actively partnered with in their care, and when clinicians are supported with the time, resources, and respect needed to do their best work. Our clinicians’ approach is trauma-informed and healing-centered.

We reduce barriers to care by working with insurance, offering both in-person and telehealth services, and providing accessible, thoughtfully designed systems so clients can focus on healing, not navigating red tape. Our administrative and clinical infrastructure is intentionally built to support ease, continuity, and collaboration.

Vision Statement

Our vision is to cultivate a compassionate, empowering workplace that supports the well-being of both clients and staff.

Values Statement

Equity & Inclusion

We approach all aspects of our work through an equity lens. We actively support BIPOC, 2SLGBTQIA+, and other marginalized communities by prioritizing representation, cultural humility, and affirming care. We recognize that access is not equal, and we commit to doing the work required to make care more accessible and just.

Collaboration Over Corporatization

We reject models that prioritize optimization over people. Healing happens through collaboration, between client and therapist, across disciplines, and within our team. We believe shared decision-making and flexibility lead to better outcomes.

Person-Centered Care

Every client is the expert on their own life. We tailor therapy to each individual’s needs, strengths, and goals, using evidence-based modalities while honoring identity, autonomy, and lived experience.

Care for Clinicians

Quality care begins with caring for the people who provide it. We offer equitable compensation, strong benefits, and supportive systems that allow clinicians to practice sustainably, ethically, and with integrity.

Accountability in Action

We believe values must be backed by action. From our hiring practices to our policies, supervision, and infrastructure, we are committed to ongoing reflection, learning, and change, because stepping our game up means continuously doing better.
